vGRID Platform Overview
vGRID SaferCity Platform is a vendor agnostic platform, with CCTV live streaming, ANPR aggregation and CCTV footage retrieval built in, developed by SaferCities, in collaboration with Police around the world and the community they serve to help collaborate better and build safer cities.
vGRID addresses the problem Police, the community and other agencies struggle with globally, connecting CCTV and other visual information from disparate sources regardless of owner, make or network connectivity. vGRID replces the need for dedicated dedicated networks and licenses for evey site while handling user permissions and auditing across organsiations providing complete control of what each organsiation wishes to share with another organisation.
Evolution of the vGRID SaferCity Platform is ongoing and continual, with the same philosophies we started with back in 2015, keping vGRID secure, compliant and easy to use.
vGRID functions as the ‘vendor agnostic’ glue that brings it all in, featuring integrations into cameras, ANPR systems, VMSes, mobile devices, drones, helicopters, binoculars etc.

- vGRID Streams – live streaming feed from community devices – CCTV cameras & screens.
- vGRID ANPR – multi-vendor ANPR capture, compare, alert and search engine.
- vGRID Vault – fully compliant electronic CCTV footage capture engine.
vGRID Components
There are 2 sides to vGRID. Those that are sharing their visual information Producers and those are receiving the shared information Consumers. Organsations and users can be both Producers and Consumers depending on the required circumstances.
Producers - vGRID Gateway
- Share their CCTV, ANPR or other live video in to vGRID.
- Generally have a vGRID Gateway installed on their network to facilitate the secure connection to vGRID and connection to the relevant cameras / systems.
